PETER KIRN is an electronic musician and technologist. Classically trained as a composer and pianist, he has expanded his focus to the design of expressive interfaces and instruments and creating platforms for creative technologies. He's known as the man behind CDM (http://createdigitalmusic.com), which for ten years has been an online destination for the latest on musical and live visual technologies. He's co-creator of the MeeBlip, an awarding-winning open-source hardware synthesizer. And he is one of the creators of the embeddable libpd library for music, and the WretchUp app he co-created with Mouse on Mars.
Kirn has also led events for collaboration and knowledge sharing, and has taught workshops on open technologies and creative design around the world, including appearances at TED@BCG, OFFF, SONAR, NEXT, Social Media Week, FIBER, and South by Southwest. He continues to produce live visual performances and music from techno to experimental, including collaborations with Robert Lippok (raster noton), Nerk (as Nerk/Kirn, on Snork Enterprises), and Lower Order Ethics (as Alchemic Harm).
