Roy has a background in Mechanical Engineering and is a maker and footwear innovator based in Nairobi, Kenya. Currently he set up a local 3D printing industry, while working with techfortrade, to produce 3D printers as well as filament all from waste materials. His project 'Happy Feet' aims to provide bespoke shoes for people with foot deformities as a result of the jigger sand flea in Kenya. He is an alumni and has been an organiser of the International Development Design Summit (IDDS) and went on to organise IDDS Design for Development workshops around the world. Roy is a maker educator and consequently he is a Stanford Fablearn Fellow.
