Ria is one of those people that can never stop asking the question “Why?”. During the daytime she focuses her attention on trying to explain what incentivizes political participation as a PhD researcher in Political Economy at King’s College London. But political participation is hardly the only area that fascinates her. Observant of the ever changing societies, she has a great interest in understanding how technology is shaping the future and specifically how social media is shaping our everyday lives. Naturally this goes back to the topic of her academic research as well – how social media today and the social networks around it shape political participation. She has also blogged trying to answer various “Why?”s in political and economic topics and has published Op-Eds in newspapers such as the Telegraph.
