Luxury jewelry design is a relatively conservative industry with regards to the production and materials. Digital technologies and production innovations are often seen as unusual and unnecessary because the traditions and values of high-end jewelry-making are strongly based on handmade artisanship. That’s why most of the accomplished brands in the upmarket segment focus on the tried and tested, instead of exploring the experimental, risky zone new technologies are opening.

This talk will focus on the main creative, production and business advantages that digital manufacturing, and more specifically the 3D printing technologies, can offer fashion, jewelry designers and labels.
