Mayte Schomburg

Mayte is a fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University as well as initiator and chair of Publixphere e.V. Publixphere is a non-profit organization running the non-partisan and independent political discussion platform From 2012-14 she coordinated the Global Network of Internet & Society Research Centers (NoC) at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) in Berlin. In 2011, Mayte initiated a research project on "democratic legitimacy and the political public sphere" at the chair for European Law at the Free University of Berlin. Mayte holds a doctorate in international relations from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, where she previously studied. From 2009-10 she worked for the European Capital of Culture "Essen for the Ruhr 2010". Mayte currently spends her time between Cambridge, USA and her home town of Hamburg, Germany.
